Seamless steel pipe is a steel pipe without weld, made of round steel perforation. According to the production method, the seamless steel pipe is divided into hot-rolled seamless steel pipe, cold-rolled seamless steel pipe, cold-drawn seamless steel pipe, extruded seamless steel pipe, etc. The maximum size of seamless steel pipe can be 900mm, the minimum size is 4mm. According to the different use, the wall thickness of seamless steel pipe is not the same. Seamless steel pipe is mainly used in petroleum geological drilling pipe, petrochemical cracking pipe, boiler pipe, bearing pipe and high-precision structural steel pipe for automobiles, tractors and aviation.


Production Process of Seamless Steel Pipe: Hot Roll Draw and Cold Roll Draw

  • Hot-Rolled Seamless Steel Pipe Production Process: Tube preparation and inspection, Tube Heating, Perforation, Rolling, Tube Reheating, Sizing, Reducing, Heat Treatment, Finished Pipe Straightening, Finishing, Inspection, etc. The Outer Diameter of the Hot-Rolled Seamless Steel Pipe> 32mm, Wall Thickness is between 2.5-200mm.
  • Cold-Rolled (Drawing) Seamless Steel Pipe Production Process: Billet Preparation, Pickling Lubrication, Cold Rolling (Drawing), Heat Treatment, Straightening, Finishing, Inspection, etc. The production process of Cold-Rolled Seamless Steel Pipe is relatively complex, Outer Diameter can be 6mm,Wall Thickness can be 0.25mm, the outer diameter of the thin-walled pipe can be 5mm, the wall thickness is less than 0.25mm.
  • Cold Rolling has Higher Dimensional Accuracy than Hot Rolling
